FOOTBALL: Bury midfielder Nicky Adams was on the losing side on Thursday night as goals by Tom Huddlestone and Theo Walcott gave England a 2-0 victory over Wales in an international under-21s friendly in Wrexham.
Adams, who believes that becoming a regular member of the Wales squad this season has helped him to improve his club form, gained his second international cap as a 76th minute substitute for David Cotterill.
And the 21-year-old had arguably Wales’ best chance of the game when he broke clear of the English defence only to be thwarted by goalkeeper Joe Lewis.
