RADCLIFFE Borough lie eighth in the UniBond League First Division North table following an up and down weekend of results.
They lost 2-1 at home to mid-table Chorley on Bank Holiday Monday, with Steve Howson hitting their consolation goal, but won at lowly Woodley Sports by a Michael Oates goal to nil two days earlier.
Their other league results so far saw them win 2-0 at Mossley and lose at home to Ossett Albion by the same scoreline.
Radcliffe’s next game is at home to Northern Counties East League outfit Winterton Rangers in the preliminary round of the FA Cup this Saturday, August 30, kick-off 3pm.
Meanwhile, left sided player Andy Heald has re-joined Radcliffe following an 18-month spell at Leigh Genesis.
Radcliffe fought off competition from Vauxhall Motors, Prescot Cables and a number of local UniBond clubs to get their man and director of football Gerry Luczka said: "We needed another experienced left footed player and the signing of ‘Healdy’ gives us that experience. It also gives us more competition and balances up the team.
"I know ‘Healdy’ is delighted to be back at the club and sometimes it takes a player to leave a club to realise what he had previously and Andy falls into that category.
