Seventh for Heys

15/ 5/2008

RHYS Hardie scored his third goal in two games to ensure that Prestwich Heys rounded off their disappointing league campaign on a winning note.

Hardie’s 70th minute close range strike from Chris Smithies classy run and driving cross was the only goal of the game between defending champions Prestwich and 13th-placed Stockport Georgians on Saturday.

And the final Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester Football League Premier Division table shows Prestwich lying in seventh spot, 15 points behind new champions Wigan Robin Park.

Heys’ reserve side ended up nine points behind second division champions East Manchester reserves in runners-up spot.

Stand Athletic finished seventh in Division One and their reserve side came sixth in Division Six.
