Double defeat for struggling Heys

PRESTWICH Heys’ season of misery continued this week as they lost 3-0 at home to high-flying Wigan Robin Park and 2-1 at lowly Stockport Georgians.
Heys have now picked up just two points from their last five games.
As a result, the defending Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester Football League Premier Division champions, who recently went more than five hours without scoring a goal, are slumped in eighth place in the table.
Prestwich Heys’ reserve side look as though they will have to settle for runners-up spot in the first division after losing 3-2 at mid-table Wythenshawe Amateurs reserves on Saturday. That followed a 4-0 midweek win at second from bottom West Didsbury reserves.
Stand Athletic moved up to eighth spot in the first division with a 2-1 home win against third from bottom Wilmslow Albion.
Stand’s reserve side dropped to fourth in the third division following a 5-1 midweek defeat at ninth-placed Royton Town reserves.
