Boro must keep it tight

RADCLIFFE Borough suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Rossendale on Tuesday night to remain second bottom of the UniBond first division north.
Boro had hoped to capitalise on their 1-0 victory over Woodley the previous Saturday, but their hopes were shattered by two Dale goals in a minute mid-way through the second half.
Radcliffe are, however, off the bottom following that win over Woodley, who replace them. Steve Howson scored a penalty to give Boro a much-needed win.
Meanwhile, director of football Peter Coyne has called for a tighter defence as the side battle for survival in the UniBond First Division North.
Boro have put in some impressive performances recently and have been banging goals in for fun, but the case for the defence is not so good and it could cost them dear in the relegation shake up.
Coyne said: "One minute we think we have got it right at one end and we might be struggling for goals, the next minute we start scoring for fun and losing it at the other end.
"It’s all about consistency. We are conceding some sloppy goals at the moment and letting far too many in at the end of games.
