Spending over

BURY boss Alan Knill’s wheeling and dealing in the transfer market looks to be complete – and he is more than happy with his resulting squad.
The transfer window does not shut until the end of the month but last week’s signing of Blackpool striker Andy Morrell is almost certainly the final piece in Bury’s 2007/08 jigsaw.
Knill said: "I am happy with the squad now. We have good competition for places all over the park.
"We have got good players, a decent team and a really good work ethic.
"There is a tight budget here and I can’t see us signing any more players before the transfer window shuts. But, as a manager, I am always on the lookout for players that would further strengthen the squad."
Knill selected the same starting 11 in Bury’s first two fixtures against Brentford and Burnley.
And, after being impressed with the way the Shakers performed in both matches, he is not planning to make any team changes for the League Two fixture at his former club Chesterfield on Saturday, August 16, kick-off 3pm.
Knill said: "Why should I change things? We have started the season well.
"Chesterfield have too and it will be a tough game for us on Saturday.
"They are one of the League Two clubs that have thrown some money about in the close season. They have made plenty of signings and are being widely tipped for promotion this season.
"I know a lot about them having been a coach there. I know a lot of their players and that could help me this week."
The Shakers posed Championship club Burnley plenty of problems in their 2-0 Carling Cup defeat on Tuesday night.
But their finishing let them down and Knill wants his team to show more of a killer instinct at the weekend.
He said: "We played well against Burnley but when you have that much of the game you should win.
"We are good enough to beat teams like Burnley but we need to be more clinical in front of goal.
"That is what I am looking for on Saturday. If we can add better finishing to the all round play we showed on Tuesday we will not go far wrong."
