New fixtures released

BURY will kick-off their forthcoming Football League Two campaign with a home tie against Brentford on Saturday, August 9.

Manager Alan Knill then faces a quick return to former club Chesterfield for Bury’s first away game of the new league season on Saturday, August 16.

The first local derby comes the following week when Morecambe visit Gigg Lane.

And there will be another derby encounter seven days later as Bury make the short trip to Rochdale.

The Shakers’ first trip to newly-promoted Aldershot Town comes on Saturday, October 4, with the reverse fixture taking place on Saturday, January 24.

The other promoted club – Exeter – are in town on Saturday, October 11, while Bury head to St James Park on Saturday, January 17.

Luton Town are the first of the relegated teams to come to Bury on Saturday, October 25. Gillingham visit on Saturday, November 22, Port Vale arrive on Saturday, December 13, and the Shakers go to Bournemouth on Saturday, December 20.

The festive period fixtures are completed by Darlington at home on Boxing Day, Shrewsbury away on Sunday, December 28, and Wycombe away on Saturday, January 3.

And the final game of the season will see Bury play host to Accrington Stanley on Saturday, May 2.
