Burnley cup tie

BURY have been given a tough draw in the first round of the Carling Cup – Championship side Burnley at home.
The game will take place at Gigg Lane the week commencing Monday, August 11.
The last time the two sides met was at the same stage of the same competition in August 2004.
Bury midfielder Dwayne Mattis scored at both ends of the pitch as the Shakers lost 3-2.
Dave Challinor was Bury’s other goal scorer while Robbie Blake bagged a brace for Burnley.
Bury crashed out of the Carling Cup at the first round stage last season, losing 1-0 to Carlisle.
