The waiting game

BURY boss Alan Knill says that he will probably have to wait until the start of pre-season training before he gets a thumbs up or a thumbs down over his bid to re-sign Elliott Bennett.
The Wolves winger impressed on loan at Bury last season and Knill has been trying to get Mick McCarthy to agree to his player returning to Gigg Lane ever since.
Knill said: "I think Mick will make a decision once their pre-season starts."
Knill insists that Bennett became a better player at Bury and he believes that McCarthy would be wise to allow the speedster to continue his development under him.
But, if he is refused a permanent or new loan deal for Bennett Knill says that it would not be the end of the world as he is ‘fortunate enough to have some players who can play on the right wing anyway’.
