Efe wants to stay

EFE Sodje has boosted Bury fans’ hopes of the bandana man being a permanent fixture at Gigg Lane by saying: "It would be nice to stay at Bury."
The no-nonsense centre back is signed up on loan from Gillingham, where he has been deemed to be surplus to requirements, until the end of the season and Bury manager Alan Knill has made no secret of his desire to keep the ex-Nigerian international permanently.
Sodje said: "The manager at Gillingham has told me that I’m not in his plans.
"We’ll just have to wait and see what happens now. I still have an 18-month contract there so it’s up to Bury or some other club to come it.
"It would be nice to stay here at Bury but for Gillingham and me – that’s history.
"I am enjoying it so much at Bury. That’s the thing about football for me – I have to enjoy it. Some people do it for the money, some people do it for the enjoyment. We only have a short career and you have to enjoy the time that you have."
