DARREN Randolph ensured Bury left Edgar Street with a vital point in their bid to ensure League Two survival.
The Republic of Ireland Under 21 international produced a string of excellent second half saves, notably from Gary Hooper and Theo Robinson.
The lively Hooper also hit the crossbar and David Buchanan cleared off the line from top scorer Robinson as promotion chasing United looked for a fourth successive victory.
But thanks to some resolute defending and a slice of luck, the Shakers held on for an invaluable draw.
Indeed, Bury might have snatched all three points before Hereford launched their late offensive.

Ben Futcher and Richie Baker were booked in the cause, Efe Sodje had an outstanding game in the back four and the visitors claimed a great result to take into Monday’s crunch game against Mansfield.
