Stand book their place in final

STAND won their biggest match in years by 94 runs to book a Walkden Cup final meeting with Roe Green on Sunday, August 3.
The semi-final clash at Denton had to be completed in midweek after bad weather ensured that only one innings was possible on the original date.
Stand set a challenging target of 173 runs with Zahid Javed hitting 63 runs, which included five fours and four sixes, and Carl Sutcliffe, Stuart Catterall, Andrew Sharp, Paul Duerden, Gary Penchion, Matt Curphey and Paul Wilkinson all reaching double figures.
Fine bowling from Curphey, who took three wickets for 24 runs, plus Javed, Catterall and Niranjan Kumara then saw Denton bowled out for just 79 runs.
