A PRESTWICH pin-up failed in her bid to be crowned the most beautiful girl in Manchester, but she’s still hopeful of winning a top modelling contract.

Hollie Allison made it into the final 40 of the Miss Manchester competition but did not win the title during the final on Thursday, May 1.

The 21-year-old may have failed to impress the talent contest’s judges - including former boxer Frank Bruno and Corrie’s Kym Marsh and Tupele Dorgu who play Michelle Connor and Kelly Crabtree - but she certainly left her mark on some model scouts.

She said: "I’m not going to say too much in case it doesn’t work out but a few scouts from London had a word with me, which is promising."

It is a step in the right direction for Hollie, of Parrenthorn Road, who dreams of gracing the front cover of lads’ mags and says she is not going to give up on her modelling career.

She has also vowed to take part in other similar contests.

She added: "I didn’t win but it was really good doing it and it was a great night.

"I will do it again because I love it - it’s really exciting.

"I went to the after-show party which was excellent.

"I feel like a princess when you put your dress on and you get to meet loads of new people."

During the final of the contest the girls were put through their paces with a bikini round, evening wear round and this year there was a different round where the girls dressed as rock chicks in denim hot pants and a black T shirt while a rock band performed.

Hollie, a former Parrenthorn High School pupil, said: "All my girlfriends were there and a few of my lad mates - they loved it.

"My family came as well and I could hear them all cheering for me above everyone else."
