Strike threat over change in timetables

Strike threat over change in timetables

TEACHERS at a Prestwich high school could end up on the picket line if negotiations about timetables are not resolved.

Some staff at Prestwich Arts College have already started industrial action and are threatening to strike if crunch talks at the end of this week are unsuccessful.

The dispute centres around the school’s decision to force staff to teach an extra lesson a fortnight, time which was previously used for planning, preparation and assessment. If agreement is not reached, teachers say they will strike next week.
