Style
Party people in fashion
Dianne Bourne23/ 6/2008
SOMETIMES fashion is all about team spirit.
When swanky restaurant Gusto in Didsbury decided to host a fashion show, before they knew it, everyone from the leafy suburb was pitching in to get involved.
Didsbury boutique Steranko provided the clothes, while Didsbury Eyecare brought along the designer sunglasses to compliment all the summery fashions. And the town's John Yates took care of hair and make-up for all the models.
Super-glam
On the night, FHM High Street Honey and Price is Right host Natalie Pike took care of presenting duties and was on typically super-glam form, alongside one of our favourite girls-about-town Jo Houlcroft.
Jo said: "It was a fantastic team effort with lots of local businesses eager to participate and help raise much needed funds for Didsbury's Francis House."
Meanwhile, back in the city centre the ladies were all getting very excited about the launch of new hat studio H'Atelier and the chance to be a little bit girly and try on as many of the stunning headwear creations as possible.
Impressively, all the guests at the bash managed to find a hat that perfectly matched their outfit.
Sophisticated
But then hat guru Jen Scott-Russell, who is the millinery mastermind of the new studio, does firmly believe that there's no one who can't be improved, ever so slightly, with the right hat on their head.
Jen was the hostess with most at her new hat studio on Faraday Street in the Northern Quarter.
And as her daughter is well-known bar boss Cleo Farman, drinks and nibbles came courtesy of her Odd and Odder bar empire. And of course Cleo got her pick of the best hats from mum on the night - we were loving her red oriental style headpiece.
Meanwhile stylist Paula McNamara managed to perfectly embody colonial chic when she chose this cream hat-and-scarf combo while Laura Sharrock teamed a sophisticated black butterfly hat with her chic River Island shift dress. So many hats, Style will need some more excuses to wear them!
