Steal her style: Loanna

Dianne Bourne
5/ 8/2008

EVERY week we're out on the style scene, scouting out you fabulous fashionistas. This week, Dianne Bourne quizzed PR assistant at Manchester's Impact Media, Loanna Powell, 21, from Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, about her cool look.

How would you describe your style?

Kooky with a touch of classic style.

Where did you buy today's outfit and how much did it cost?

Dress: Topshop Christmas sale, £20

Shoes: Reaction by Kenneth Cole, Las Vegas, around £40

Handbag: River Island, £24.99

Pashmina: Primark, £2.50

Who is your style icon?

No one in particular, as I try to be individual. I don't buy items because they are in fashion. I buy them because they compliment my shape and make me look and feel good.

Name your favourite shops.

For pure glamour I go to Karen Millen. River Island also has a good collection of party dresses. I will go to Oxfam Vintage for anything quirky and Primark for anything cheap.

What's your best ever buy?

A little black dress by Marios Schwab for Topshop it was reduced in the sale from £100 to £20. Whenever I'm feeling a little rubbish or don't know what to wear, I put it on and always feel great.

What's your biggest fashion mistake?

I bought a gold sequined Karen Millen dress from Oxfam Vintage for £20. It was very short and had small buttons running down the back. I teamed it with cream leggings and cream shoes - what was I thinking! At the time, I thought I looked the bees' knees. My boyfriend, however, said my dress looked like a Christmas decoration.

How much do you usually spend on clothes each month?

Anything from £30-£100

What item of clothing can't you live without?

A beautiful dress teamed with towering heels and my pashmina.
